School Community Councils are local governance structures. They have been established by the provincial government through legislation passed in June of 2006. They are to be established in every school in Saskatchewan by June of 2007. They will replace Local Board of Trustees or Local Advisory Committees. School Community Councils will provide the community with a voice in local education as well as provide parent and community members an opportunity to work with their local school on programs that will enhance learning and student well being.
